hail damage done to roof

How Our Experts Find Hidden Roof Damage

It’s incredibly important to spot roof damage early. This allows roofers to make necessary adjustments and repairs to prevent more extensive damage. It doesn’t take much water to cause structural rot and mold growth, which can harm your health. Missing shingles can compromise the structural integrity of your roof. Pests can make their way into your home through a damaged roof. There are several methods we use to spot hidden roof damage.

Visual Inspection

The first thing we do when we arrive is to perform a visual inspection of your roof. We look for obvious signs of damage like pooling water, missing shingles, or damaged flashing. If we don’t notice anything immediately, there may still be damage that is hidden underneath the shingles and underlayment of your roof.

We will look inside your gutters and downspouts to see if there is any material from your shingles or roof inside. This can point us in the direction of aging roof materials that are breaking down and require replacement. We will also look for moss growth on your roof, which can indicate moisture pooling in that area or underneath your shingles.

After a storm, it’s important to have your roof professionally inspected. It’s common for minor damage to occur from falling branches or strong winds. You may not be able to see a problem from ground level, but our team can make sure nothing is wrong with your roof.

Advanced Technology

It’s not constructive to start ripping shingles off your roof to look for signs of leaks and damage. We have a few different types of technology that we can use to spot issues. For example, thermal imaging can help us create detailed imaging of what’s going on below the surface of your roof so that we can spot leaks.

We can send electronic frequencies through the surface of your roof to detect areas where water is present. This is a minimally invasive process that is extremely accurate.

Moisture mapping can create a thorough inspection of your roof thanks to multiple technologies we use during a single inspection. By using moisture meters, thermal imaging, and electronic leak detection, we can find even the smallest of leaks. We have access to multiple types of diagnostic equipment and have expert knowledge that can help us address leaks and other sources of roof damage.
